About Us :
Ours is a Non Government Organization (NGO) started in 2006 and registered as per the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960. Since inception, we have been conducting so many programs for the benefit of Women, Youth and Children.
Janamukh Swayam Seva Samasthe, Dharwad was established in 2006 with a steadfast commitment to the development and empowerment of children with disabilities. Our organization specializes in providing early intervention training that supports the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of these children. With a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers, we work to create an inclusive environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive. We collaborate closely with parents, educational institutions, and government agencies to ensure that our programs are both comprehensive and effective, enabling our beneficiaries to lead independent and dignified lives. Our journey is fueled by the belief that every child deserves a chance to shine, and we continuously strive to make that vision a reality.
Janamukhi Swayam Seva Samsthe has been working with Fourth Wave Foundation on the program ‘nanagushaale’ School for me too! In mainstreaming Children with Disabilities into government schools with special focus on girls. The project has been functioning in the Dist of Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Bagalkot and Vijayapur and cases affecting girl children with disabilities and HIV have been documented. The approach has been to bring together various sections of community with the support of local authorities to address issue related to education and welfare of CWSN. Janamukhi ’s unique approach on addressing social issues using folk and rural art forms has helped gain rural acceptance and encouraged the involvement of multi stakeholders in the change process.

About Janamukhi
Janmukhi Seva Samsthe, founded in 2006 by Mr. Basavaraj Maygeri, is a registered non-profit organization working passionately for the welfare and development of children with disabilities in and around Dharwad, Karnataka.
Our organization is registered under the Co-operative Societies Act with Reg. No. DWR-S192-2006-07, dated 30-08-2006. We hold all the essential registrations and recognitions including:
80G (for income tax exemption to donors)
12A (for tax exemption of the NGO)
NGO Darpan ID
CSR Form-1 approval (eligible for CSR funding)
At Janmukhi Seva Samsthe, we believe every child has the right to live with dignity, learn, and grow to their full potential.
JANAMUKHI is working presently in 8 Districts of Karnataka. It has established with Office, good network of Youth Organizations, volunteers, field officer, community organizer, local co-coordinator, (District Advisory Committee on social Programs headed by the organization key person & Official staff/nonofficial members) & this committee will meet periodically to discuss the programs/activities of JANAMUKHI .
‘Never-the-less’ - campaign and conference for a Disabled Friendly India
- Campaign engaged 6000 schools; 200 colleges; 10 corporate and local communitiesIn association with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan;
- Government of Karnataka (Department for the Empowerment of the Differently Abled and Senior Citizens); Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities; Karnatak University Dharwad; Bangalore University; Karnatak Bala Vikas Acadamy , government of karnatka cultral department and IIMB. Driven by 1,500 volunteers, supported by 50 NGOs.
- CWSN Convention for Disabled Peoples Organization’s to enable Nanagu Shaale identified out of school children to ensure enrolments.
- Presenting Nanagu Shaale at various State and District level programs.
- Training at 12 colleges for MSW (masters in Social Work) and BSW (Bachelors in Social Work) and other students on Inclusive education model of ‘Nanagu Shaale’ and its impact for a more inclusive community
- 10 colleges 500 volunteers worked on survey of slum intervention projects to identify out of school CWSN and ensure enrolments
- Involvement of various urban colleges in the documentation process of case studies also served awareness creation efforts. SSA NS Inclusive education awareness Drive for 6000 schools

Aim:Our primary aim is to provide specialized and inclusive care for children aged 0-16 with disabilities, helping them achieve their fullest potential. Through physiotherapy, therapeutic games, and a range of development programs, we aim to support their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

Working Area
With a dedicated team and growing network, our mission is to make inclusive care accessible across Karnataka, especially for children from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. Presently we are working in Dharwad, Gadag, Chikodi, Bagalkot District.
Our Services
SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM(SRP)
- Access to education:
The program facilitates enrollment of children with disabilities intomainstream schools. - Access to therapy :
Through the program, children receive health care and therapies for abetter quality of life - Individualised Education Plan
(IEP)A carefully planned individualised plan is developed focusing on learning,nutrition, hygiene, social interaction and physical activity - Mainstreaming
Through the program, children with disabilities are equipped to transitioninto mainstream schools - Tech enabled learning
The program uses assistive technology and state of the artinfrastructures to cater to the learning needs of children with disabilities.
We offer two major services:
👶 Early InterventionPhysiotherapy (0 to 6 years)
We provide free physiotherapy and early intervention services to children aged 0 to 6 years, helping improve their motor skills, mobility, and developmental progress.
🎓 Inclusive Education
(6th to 10th Standard)
We run inclusive education programs for students with special needs from 6th to 10th standard, empowering them with academic, emotional, and social support in a safe and accepting environment.Our dedicated team of therapists, special educators, and volunteers work tirelessly to transform lives by breaking barriers and promoting inclusion.Join us in our mission to build a more inclusive and caring society for every child.
